Job Summary
The Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting division management and employees in all aspects of their day-to-day business activities through tracking, collecting, entering, storing, compiling and analyzing a wide range of operating and financial information used to manage, monitor and improve the performance of the division.
This position is eligible for performance based bonus opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and update as needed the budget/forecast and strategy planning of the division.
- Create NetSuite Sales Orders, manage any revisions through project completion.
- Create NetSuite budgets (work breakdown structure) for each job, including change orders, for use in budget versus actual performance analyses.
- Allocate all expenses to the correct NetSuite category and to the individual job level.
- Work with division project managers to evaluate actual versus budget financial performance during and after all jobs.
- Invoice completed jobs to ensure fast and accurate billing.
- Administer collection of Accounts Receivable (AR) from customers to minimize DSO.
- Administer Accounts Payable (AP) with suppliers and labor vendors, resolve all AP issues.
- Analyze monthly income statement in NetSuite to identify and correct all errors.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and operating reports and present results to the division manager and DCPS management.
- Provide financial and operating recommendations to division manager that contribute to increased growth, efficiency and profitability of the division.
- Administer and maintain vendor portals to ensure accurate and consistent information and support for division employees and vendors.
- Ensure data integrity in various DCPS systems with regular monitoring and reconciliation.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
- 2 years of direct experience in financial analysis, preferably within the construction, manufacturing, or similar industries.
- Direct experience working in ERP and various systems such as NetSuite, Salesforce, PowerBI, Smartsheets, MS Teams and Sharepoint.
- Direct experience with financial statements, accounting principles, and budget or forecast processes.
- Very strong financial modeling and data analysis skills using Excel to quickly process and transform large amounts of data into actionable information.
