Financial Analyst

Job Summary

The Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting division management and employees in all aspects of their day-to-day business activities through tracking, collecting, entering, storing, compiling and analyzing a wide range of operating and financial information used to manage, monitor and improve the performance of the division.

This position is eligible for performance based bonus opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and update as needed the budget/forecast and strategy planning of the division.
• Create NetSuite Sales Orders, manage any revisions through project completion.
• Create NetSuite budgets (work breakdown structure) for each job, including change orders, for use in budget versus actual performance analyses.
• Allocate all expenses to the correct NetSuite category and to the individual job level.
• Work with division project managers to evaluate actual versus budget financial performance during and after all jobs.
• Invoice completed jobs to ensure fast and accurate billing.
• Administer collection of Accounts Receivable (AR) from customers to minimize DSO.
• Administer Accounts Payable (AP) with suppliers and labor vendors, resolve all AP issues.
• Analyze monthly income statement in NetSuite to identify and correct all errors.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and operating reports and present results to the division manager and DCPS management.
• Provide financial and operating recommendations to division manager that contribute to increased growth, efficiency and profitability of the division.
• Administer and maintain vendor portals to ensure accurate and consistent information and support for division employees and vendors.
• Ensure data integrity in various DCPS systems with regular monitoring and reconciliation.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
• 2 years of direct experience in financial analysis, preferably within the construction, manufacturing, or similar industries.
• Direct experience working in ERP and various systems such as NetSuite, Salesforce, PowerBI, Smartsheets, MS Teams and Sharepoint.
• Direct experience with financial statements, accounting principles, and budget or forecast processes.
• Very strong financial modeling and data analysis skills using Excel to quickly process and transform large amounts of data into actionable information.
