Job Summary
The Financial Analyst works under minimal supervision to conduct financial analysis, research the drivers behind revenue cycle data to ensure accuracy, make needed calculations and report institutional information. This position requires the ability to provide complex reporting and analytic support to various management levels related to strategic decision making as well as leading troubleshooting efforts on health care claims database. Maintaining productive working relationships by communicating effectively with department leaders, hospital leaders, staff, and other customers to deliver exceptional financial analysis and recommendations for future program development is required. Multifaceted analytical work will encompass collecting, integrating, troubleshooting, interpreting, forecasting, and presenting disparate information, including analytical projects. Attention to detail while understanding the big picture, strategy and purpose is a must. Ability to work with incomplete information and develop informed assumptions, as well as the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment are also required.

Essential Functions
- Demonstrates advanced understanding of Excel (e.g. macros, pivot tables, external data ranges); has an understanding of SQL, and relational databases (20%)
- Demonstrates strong understanding of revenue cycle key performance indicators – Charges, Payments, Adjustments, and Denials, and their relationships in Epic (10%)
- Prepares weekly/ monthly financial reports and data reviews for management, including analysis of reporting and data (10%)
- Ensures all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved (10%)
- Develops insightful analytics and provides effective financial modeling to help drive and evaluate business performance (10%)
- Assists with ad hoc analysis and special projects as requested (10%)
- Identifies problems and opportunities for continuous improvement (10%)
- Develops appropriate solutions by involving others in the resolution, implementation and documentation process (10%)
- Explores with the team new opportunities to enhance monthly and quarterly report creation. (10%)
- Bachelor's Degree Concentration in Business, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Data Analytics, or Healthcare Management are preferred Required
- 1-3 years experience in healthcare or a health insurance related field. Required and
- 1-3 years two years of EPIC experience in an reporting/analyst capacity. Required
- 4-6 years Five years' experience in an analyst capacity, preferred. and
- 4-6 years Four years' Epic experience in a reporting/analyst capacity, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Solid understanding of accounting principles required
- Strong understanding of Epic and revenue cycle
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, critical and analytical thinking, as well as organization and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize work activities
- Ability to easily adapt to change
- Ability to utilize various software applications and information systems to perform work processes
- Attention to detail while understanding the big picture, strategy, and purpose
- Ability to work with incomplete information and develop informed assumptions
