CT ScanJob SummaryUnder general supervision, this individual will be a key member of the CT team, contributing to a variety of critical tasks to ensure smooth and efficient workflow. Responsibilities include assisting with patient preparation and transport, ensuring readiness for imaging procedures, managing and documenting patient information, and collaborating in all areas of daily operations. This role also involves maintaining a safe and organized environment. Flexibility, attention to detail, and a team-oriented mindset are essential in providing seamless support to the CT department.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for placing & removing IVs on all patients coming to CT that do not already have one. (30%)
- Transport patients to and from CT suite whether from a waiting room area, ED room, or other location. (30%)
- Ensures patient has all jewelry removed prior to scan and patient is gowned appropriately based on CT scan type. (20%)
- Primary point of contact and schedule coordinator for phone calls, Epic messages, and Epic status board for CT imaging scans. (5%)
- Responsible for getting patients on and off CT table. Cleaning table and preparing for the next patient. (5%)
- Scrub CT schedule in advance to prepare for any additional services a patient may need (i.e. interpreter services requests, CT contrast prep, etc.). (5%)
- Responsible for stocking supplies for CT suites. (5%)
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
Work Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience in a patient care setting, with preferred emphasis on prior experience in a procedural/surgical setting. Required and
- 1-3 years IV & Vascular access experience Required
Licenses:
- BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross Required
- EMTB-EMT Basic - CO - State of Colorado
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate openly and empathetically with patients and their family members.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary team to provide high quality care.
- Basic proficiency in use of computers and software applications.
- Ability to multitask and work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to operate and document IV care in Epic EMR.
- Ability to be adaptable and offer flexibility with schedule as needed.
- Ability to use a Hoyer lift when needed.
