The BHP abides by guidelines and expectations specific to the setting in which they provide patient care. Services will be provided in an Ambulatory Care Services (ACS) clinic or a school-based center with a focus on therapeutic interventions across the lifespan. Services include brief evidence-based treatment for psychiatric disorders and assessing psychosocial factors in patients with chronic medical conditions and may include substance abuse screening and treatment. The BHP provides as needed : case management and consultation, case coordination to facilitate referrals to specialty care, and crisis intervention. Essential Functions : Provides high quality clinical services to referred individuals, including short-term evidence-based interventions, support services, and collaboration with other teams as needed. (70%) Conducts brief diagnostic screening of patients using evidence-based assessments and screening tools. (5%) Provides health behavior change interventions using Motivational Interviewing. (5%) Consult with providers as part of the interdisciplinary team and generate recommendations, referrals, and case management as needed. (5%) Conduct safety and risk assessments as needed. (5%) Generate documentation of assessment and intervention in the medical record in a timely manner. (5%) Provide education, treatment, and referrals to family members as appropriate. (5%) Education : Master's Degree from a certified Master's program in psychology, counseling, social work, or other related human services degree.
