Denver Language School (DLS) is a public, tuition-free language immersion charter school located across two sites in Denver. DLS provides an innovative academic program to reach the highest levels of student achievement through comprehensive language immersion education in Spanish and Mandarin Chinese. DLS offers traditional learning activities in the target language, making the language both the medium and the object of instruction.
Gilpin Operations Lead
Position Overview
Reporting to the Human Resources Director, this full-time position is scheduled from 7 : 30 - 4 : 00, Monday through Friday. This position is in-person at the Denver Language School Gilpin Campus.
The intended start date for this position is April 1, 2025. The school will prorate the new hire’s pay until July 2025 when the school’s current employment period ends. In August 2025, the new employment period will begin.
The position will remain open until filled by a highly qualified candidate.
Salary and Benefits
- Annual salary range is $52,000 - $54,899 per year - This position works 210 days per calendar year and is on a July-June employment agreement cycle
- 10 days of PTO with an option to roll up to 6 days to the following school year.

Essential Functions and Objectives
Purchasing & Accounting
Meets the demands of the Director of HR in order to ensure the school complies with organizational, district and state accounting expectationsWith the support of the Director of HR & Finance, support the financial health of DLS through tracking of purchases and accurately projecting future expenses through appropriate budget managementStudent Wellbeing and Belonging
Collaborate with building administrators and teachers to track student attendance concernsWork to support the K-8 Registrar in maintaining effective communication throughout the school choice and enrollment process to support the family experience of joining DLSTrain TA’s and teachers assigned a duty in safety and supervision as requested by Principals, EDProactively assist Registrar with maintaining accuracy of student household information in authorizing district’s systemsCoordinate with Registrar during in-person registration and garner buy-in from Operations AssistantsAssist with development and implementation of the School Emergency PlanAssist with lunch and recess coverage as neededSupport nursing team, monitor AED, and act as “Designate” at the campusOrganization for Learning
Implement and lead excellent operational systems, processes, and policies at a campusEnsure that “Subbing System” for the campus is implementedLead arrival and dismissal procedures for the Gilpin campusTrain staff on “Pikmykid” dismissal proceduresProvide logistical support for school-wide events and functionsAct as point person for Gilpin school eventsProvide professional development to staff as requested by Principals or Director of HRCoordinate moves for classrooms, yearly packing, and cleaning at buildingActs a highly visible presence at the front desk and takes responsibility for ensuring phone calls are answered, visitors are greeted, and student and staff requests are managedResponsible for maintaining inventories of supplies and materials for the purpose of ensuring items' availability and organizing the spaceMaintaining an organized clean space in the office as well as the loungesSupporting the operational needs of campus directed field experiences, Project Manager for all student field experiencesCollaborate with school photo vendor to orchestrate School Photos for the Gilpin CampusCompose routine and complex documents (e.g. executive summaries, correspondence, policies, agendas, minutes, event programs, handbooks, bulletins, reports, job postings, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information to school personnel, students, parents, the public, and othersTechnology & Systems
Work alongside DPS Facilities Manager for all building needs, including heat mitigationSupport team members by acting as Schoology and Google administrator (creating parent and student accounts, courses, groups, etc)Manage and coordinate Student Google AccountsMonitor staff needs regarding technology and and make recommendations as to purchases / replacements to technology consultant and administrationAssist in managing transportation services across campusesBecome building expert on all school wide platforms, including but not limited to Infinite Campus, Schoology, PikMyKid, Google ClassroomProactively train staff on said platforms and systems annuallyManagement of Operations Assistant
Manages the workflow and tasks of Operations Assistant, under the direction of the Campus Principal and Director of HREnsures the Operations Assistant maintains accurate attendance in Infinite Campus and other daily school operationsWorks with Campus Principal to facilitate building-level projects and initiatives, and direct Operations Assistant’s work on building level projectsFacilitates routine meetings with Operations Assistant to support their growth and developmentPerform other job-related duties as assigned and which further the mission and vision of Denver Language School
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred (equivalent experience can be substituted on a year-to-year basis)Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
