About this job :

School Psychologist Interns will provide direct and indirect social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health services for children and youth, as well as work with families, school administrators, educators, and other professionals to create supportive learning and social environments for all students. In addition, School Psychologist Interns will perform psycho-educational and cognitive assessments of students from Preschool through High School when needed. School Psychologist Interns hold a CDE Intern Authorization license are supervised by district assigned CDE licensed school psychologists. The Intern Authorization license allows interns to work independently of their supervisor and fulfill nearly the full role of career-level school psychologist job duties.

What You'll Do :

Consults with staff and parents, make recommendations for developmentally appropriate services and strategies to assist in improving student achievement

Participates in crisis management by assessing risk, providing interventions, and making community referrals

Provides social and emotional intervention for students (in groups and individually)

Consults with parents and school staff in the development of appropriate behavior goals / interventions

Evaluates the need for cognitive and social and emotional support under Section 504 and IDEA; interprets assessment data and develop goals to meet individual student needs

Support district initiatives on social and emotional learning

What You'll Need :

Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and be in the final year of a Specialist (MA 30) or Doctoral level School Psychology Program; Master's Degree preferred

Current Colorado Department of Education Intern Authorization license with an endorsement in School Psychology. All graduate students in school psychology prepared for internship will qualify for an Intern Authorization and will apply for one the summer prior to their internship experience.

Have experience in the administration and interpretation of a variety of test instruments to evaluate cognitive ability, learning aptitudes, academic skills and eligibility for special education.

Have experience using consultation techniques that allow for providing effective techniques that address problems in learning and behavior.

Have experience working with culturally diverse populations.

Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.

Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.

Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.
