The hiring salary range for this position is $5,003.44 - $6,006.16/month or $2,501.72 - $3,003.08/semi-monthly depending on qualifications.

This class specification represents only the core areas of responsibilities; specific position assignments will vary depending on the needs of the Division.
•Receives, reviews, validates, processes, prepares, reconciles and/or archives financial documents, payments, receivables, statements, invoices, purchase orders, and/or other records for assigned functions; verifies approvals or prepares and submits documents for approval; issues receipts; posts financial data, and/or account information. 
•Performs complex balance sheet reconciliations, compiles information and processes project billing for grantors. Enters data and transactions into automated systems and verifies accuracy; monitors and maintains account information, vendor data, contracts, purchasing information and/or general account information.  Processes data, posts fiscal transactions, verifies balances and prepares documents, checks, deposits, and/or reports.
•Serves as a back up to the Sr. Staff Accountant on all aspects of monthly accounting close procedures. Assists internal and external customers by answering questions and providing information regarding billing, purchasing, payments, policies and/or procedures; researches information and responds to questions and information requests. Conducts regular collections on overdue receivables.
•Assists with annual audit. Prepares and distributes correspondence, forms, schedules, notices, vouchers, vendor related documents, and/or related reports. 
•Performs internal audits on DRCOG programs and external audits on contractors as requested; in conjunction with the other management, oversees many financial components of the Veterans Directed Care Program.
•Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
•Processing accounts payable transactions including reviewing invoices and payment requests for the agency, entering payment data in system, distributing payments and maintaining documentation;
•Monitoring all financial components of DRCOG’s $4.8M (annually) Veteran Directed Care program to include auditing of vendor invoices, upload of claims to the Veterans Administration (VA), oversight of accounts payable and accounts receivable for the program; communicating regularly with the DRCOG project team, the Fiscal Management Services contractor, and the VA;
•Performing financial desk audits of the 30 Area Agency on Aging (AAA) contractors, Federal Transportation Administration 5310 funding, and Human Services Transportation funding; reporting any finding to Manager of AAA Business operations and the Director of Administration and Finance; 
•Calculating, billing, and tracking payment of annual Member Contributions paid by member jurisdictions to DRCOG. 
•Entering accounts receivable data, generating and reimbursement requests, and preparing related reports;
•Entering payment information in accounting system and preparing deposits;
•Reconciling bank statements with accounting system;
•Assisting Sr. Staff Accountant and Accounting Manager with monthly account reconciliations and asset maintenance;
•Assisting with monthly project billing and monthly close by pulling reports and other information;
•Ad hoc research and reporting as needed; other duties as assigned.

•Familiarity with basic concepts of digital accessibility, including techniques for accessible writing, presenting, remote meetings, and document creation.


Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or field directly related to assignment, and one to three years of progressively responsible related experience 
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
