Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 of related work experience and 4 years of progressive leadership experience preferred.
  • Any equivalent combination of certifications, education, or experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities for the position.

Licenses, Registration, and Certifications

  • WorkFront course certification preferred.
  • CompTIA Security , GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC) or relevant certifications preferred.

    The IT Support Manager is responsible for overseeing IT technical support staff in the areas of help desk functions, equipment deployment, client patching, audio visual equipment and printer support while providing technical leadership, and project coordination. Ability to manage various technology platforms, while looking for ways to advance our technology solutions in a cost-effective way.

    While this position is responsible for leading a group of technical individuals, the key skills are leadership, the ability to formulate a strategic vision, to develop and maintain a roadmap for the team, and support Denver Water’s technologies.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    This position has formal supervisory responsibilities over other employees.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage annual operational team budgets including AV Equipment, printer equipment, computing devices, staffing and professional services.
  • Develop necessary training plans to provide the team with skills and abilities to operate, maintain, support, and evolve the team’s scope of technology platforms. Coordinate closely with Information Security Office for guidance on cyber related training needs.
  • Establish and enforce Help Desk service level agreements in consultation with end users to establish problem resolution expectations and timeframes.
  • Analyze performance of Help Desk activities and documented resolutions, identify problem areas, and devise and deliver solutions to enhance quality of service and to prevent future problems.
  • Manage the processing of incoming calls to the Help Desk via both telephone and e-mail to ensure courteous, timely, and effective resolution of end user issues.
  • Track and analyze trends in Help Desk requests and generate statistical reports.
  • Utilize enterprise tools and data efficient resource planning to understand staff availability for project work.
  • Participate and / or take lead in incident management as required.
  • Assist and / or oversee the design, testing, implementation, and documentation of new client devices.
  • Assist in internal and external audits as necessary.
  • Prepare for and perform IT cyber incident response as required.
