Perform as a resource during the WQ Lead’s absence and assist with training water quality technicians in all aspects of the job.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
All Water Quality Technicians will:
- Participate in and monitor work to ensure safe and proper work practices and procedures are implemented, adopted, and followed.
- Utilize various software programs (LIMS, Tokay, Eris) as applicable to complete daily assignments.
- Champion the utilization and implementation of Continuous Improvement tools.
- Load and lift various items such as containers, instruments, or other equipment.
- Participate in emergency response and on-call duties that include nights and weekends.
- Perform other duties as assigned and cross train across Water Quality as needed.
- Assist with enforcing the daily execution of field operations and administration of compliance water quality and cross-connection control program; scheduling, prioritizing, and coordinating work activities for all work groups; monitoring of work activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures; development of regulatory compliance metrics for compliance reporting and production board metrics; maintaining records concerning operations and programs and prepare reports on operations and activities.
- Ensures compliance with Colorado Primary Drinking Water Regulation 11, Regulations 84, 86, 65, 100 and International Plumbing Code, ABPA/ASSE testing procedures/principles.
- Maintain records and prepare water quality operations related reports and letters to internal/external customers.
- Attend pre-construction meetings and review as-built drawings related to system improvement and system development projects.
- Perform and coordinate physical inspection and disinfection of distribution mains and capital projects including transmission lines, yard piping and treated water storage reservoirs.
- Assess and evaluate the performance of Source of Supply potable water treatment systems.
- Conduct more difficult water quality complaint investigations, leak investigations, backflow prevention investigations, regulation 84 audits and compliance violation responses.
- Inspect commercial, industrial, domestic, and agricultural plumbing systems for cross connections. Inspect and maintain compressed gas supply lines, vacuum pumps, automated sampling systems, and chiller systems.
- Assist with developing standard operating procedures and standard work documents for program activities.
- Advise customers, plumbers, and registered ABPA/ASSE backflow prevention testers of cross connection control compliance issues. Ensure timely and acceptable resolution of compliance deficiencies.
- Assist with plan reviews, technical drawings, sketches, and blueprints to ensure conformity with engineering standards, operating rules, and regulations.
- Perform as a resource person and trainer in all aspects of the job.
- Participate in planning and presenting tours and educational events.
- Utilizes Continuous Improvement tools and principles within the execution of studies and projects.
- Perform Emergency Response stand-by Duty per Water Quality Operations stand-by rotation schedule.
- Perform related work as required.
