As a Network Analyst, you will use independent judgment in consultation with agency partners, and management, to ensure effective implementation of information technologies in support of the EIS mission and goals. On a regular basis, you will have the opportunity to provide professional expertise to specialized business areas and units throughout State Government and coordinate and collaborate with cross agency staff to ensure the customer’s needs are being met.
The Network Analyst serves a crucial role in the infrastructure health and maintenance. The purpose of this position is to administer information systems including network infrastructure, information security, systems log and information analysis and review. Some of the things you'll do include:
  • Design, engineering, configuration and installation, and administration and maintenance of the enterprise’s data communication systems.
  • Provide expert technical-level network design, support and control, and customer service for the Data Center Services Division.
  • Maintain and support mission critical infrastructure systems, servers and networking technologies including resolution of major system events including systems that provide multi-site access to agency data for EIS, and other agencies and external partners.
  • Collaborates with other systems specialists and security personnel at other external agencies to ensure that solutions are coordinated and are consistent across agencies.
  • Utilize knowledge of networking, server administration, information security best practices and project management techniques to complete projects relating to information technology
NOTE: The Network team provides after hours support via a paid on-call rotation and must be able to report to the State Data Center in Salem, OR within one hour.

What We Are Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Six (6) years of information systems experience in: managing Large WAN enterprises with more than 100 remote sites, MPLS and BGP; OR
  • An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND four (4) years of information systems experience in: managing Large WAN enterprises with more than 100 remote sites, MPLS and BGP); OR
  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field AND two (2) years of information systems experience in: managing Large WAN enterprises with more than 100 remote sites, MPLS and BGP; OR
  • Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field may substitute for all of the above.

  • Teammates with exceptional analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Engineers with Enterprise Network Engineering, and Management experience with requirements and expectations similar in scope to large ISP’s including OSPF, BGP, MPLS, and basic network equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing operational processes and procedures targeted towards technical audiences
Preference Statement:
Preference may be given to candidates who have experience or skills in: Software Defined Networking, CI/CD, and Hybrid Cloud Networking technologies such as express route, SDWAN and SASE.

  • Hybrid work environment supported and encouraged! This position is eligible for hybrid work but is not suitable for full-time remote work. In-office work will be required approximately one day per week and may be subject to change based on business needs.
