INTRODUCTION
This position is in the Office of the Chief Executive, St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Department of Behavioral Health. The Office of the Chief Executive provides overall executive management and leadership for all services and departments at St. Elizabeth's Hospital.
St. Elizabeth’s Hospital provides inpatient psychiatric, medical, and psycho-social person-centered treatment to adults to support their recovery and return to the community. The Hospital’s goal is to maintain an active treatment program that fosters individual recovery and independence as much as possible. The Hospital is licensed by the District’s Department of Health and meets all the conditions of participation promulgated by the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Provide complex and extensive administrative and management support and coordination to the Office of the Chief Executive and the Office of the Chief Operating Officer, such as but not limited to, organizing and managing their calendars and meetings including planning, ensuring logistics, and preparing materials and documents; handling correspondence; managing and preparing various complex reports and information including those that are sensitive in nature; drafting agendas for standing and special meetings; taking minutes of meetings; assisting with handling special projects and acting as a liaison to internal and external organizations and groups.
Provides critical and substantive administrative and management support on all matters pertaining to the operations of the Office of the Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer to include composing and preparing correspondence and reports related to projects and programs for review and/or signature.
Provides guidance to leadership and administrative staff regarding proper processing procedures for all issues and actions.
Works closely with management in the coordination and preparation of the annual budget as well as the annual spending plan before and after budget schedules.
The incumbent assists in the development and execution of policies and programs in addition to the analysis and evaluation of operations.
EDUCATION
Must possess a High School Diploma or Certificate of Equivalency (GED)
QUALIFCATIONS REQUIREMENT
This position requires one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level. Specialized experience is experience which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position to be filled.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This work is usually performed in an office setting.
Position Designation: This position is deemed as “Security Sensitive” pursuant to Section 412 of Chapter 4 of the D.C. Personnel Regulations, in addition to the general suitability screening, individuals applying for or occupying security-sensitive positions are subject to the following checks and tests:

RESIDENCY PREFERENCE
A person applying for a position in the Career Service, Educational Service, Management Supervisory Service, a line attorney position in the Legal Service (series 905), or an attorney position in the Excepted Service (series 905) who is a bona fide District resident AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION for the position may be awarded a 10-point residency preference over non-District applicants, unless the person declines to the preference points. If selected, the person shall be required to present proof of bona fide District resident and maintain such residency for 7 consecutive years from the effective date of the appointment. Failure to maintain bona fide District residency for the 7-year period will result in forfeiture of employment.
