Job Duties
Western State Hospital is seeking a full time General Administrative Coordinator who will provide administrative support for the day to day operation of the Hospital Director Office and oversee primary functions of the Hospital Director Office to include handling patient/family complaints, Patient Abuse/Neglect allegations, responses to dLCV, OSIG, and Supports the Director of Community Relations and Hospital Investigator and staff. Provides back up support to the office of the Chief Financial Officer.
This Position Is Also Responsible For
Coordinate activities of the office of Hospital Director in collaboration with Hospital Director ensure and document ongoing operation of key hospital functions / committees.
Provide specialized, general and Administrative Services related to Patient Relations including Human Rights and Patient Abuse / Neglect issues.
Serve as Director's Liaison for interactions with Central Office, Office of Attorney General, Office of State Inspector General, Disability Law Center of Virginia and other agencies as assigned by the Director.
Provide specialized clerical support for the Hospital Director.
Function as Administrative Assistant to the Hospital Director.
Provides Administrative Support for the Hospital Investigator.
This position is eligible for Health, Vision, Dental and Life Insurance.

- High school graduate required

- Knowledge of Joint Commission standards
- Proficient knowledge and skill in the use of computer applications (Windows, Word, Excel, electronic calendar, Power Point, local databases and email)
- Filing, scheduling, and organizational skills including organization of high volume of electronic and paper files.
- Skill and experience in organizing and generating agendas and minutes for committee meetings.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills,
- Ability to communicate with patients and their families, staff at all levels of hospital, outside agencies/ hospitals ( Attorney General Office, dLCV, OSIG, LHRC, Advisory Council)
- The ability to prioritize tasks and effectively work independently in a multi-task environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to note emerging issues and communicate them to management.
