Skills
Performs sterile treatments, catheterizations, phlebotomy, G-tube insertion, NG tube insertion and tube feedings as assigned. Coordinates the patient's behavioral treatment plan with the CNA's. Performs the following but not limited to clinical skills in a competent manner:
Minimum Qualifications
Clinical knowledge of principles and practices of practical nursing and ability to implement planned nursing care and provide guidance to other staff. Knowledge of normal anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, body mechanics, nursing procedures, growth and development, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Skills in performing patient assessments, medication administration, tube feedings, sterile and non-sterile treatments, suctioning, tracheotomy care and catheterizations. Ability to carry out nursing care procedures including the physical ability to turn, bend & lift helpless patients without restrictions. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing along with the ability to work overtime as needed.
Additional Considerations
Experience in nursing at the professional level coupled with experience in medical/surgical nursing, psychiatric nursing, geriatric nursing, rehabilitative nursing and or nursing care of the mentally retarded
