Western State Hospital is hiring LPN's! We are offering a SIGN-ON BONUS up to $10,000 available (with a One-Year commitment)
RETENTION BONUS up to $7,500 on their anniversary date (with an additional one-year written agreement)
LPN will provide direct patient care in a safe, therapeutic environment for a specific patient population in a 24 hour 7 day a week psychiatric hospital that conforms to care and treatment policies and procedures and demonstrates knowledge of population specific needs and competencies.
1st shift weekend $3.00/hr.
2nd shift weekdays $3.50/hr., and weekend/holidays $3.50/hr.

- Providing quality care as a part of an interdisciplinary team
- Provide work direction to PNA staff, under supervision of an RN
- Maintaining accountability in a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment
- Creating healthy interpersonal interactions on adult acute admissions unit, geriatric unit, and extended rehabilitation service unit
- Observing and reporting feedback regarding interventions, treatments, behaviors, physical and emotional wellbeing, and other situations
- Documenting and communicating
- Using specialized training for promoting mental wellness recovery
- Prioritizes time to meet patient’s needs and provides direct patient care duties as assigned and when finished with medication administration.
- Implements all individual treatment plans as written.
- Administer medications, does treatments, and reports and documents patient education and response according to policy and procedure

Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge of illness and treatment modalities to include medication administration.
- Ability to implement nursing care plan and provide guidance to other staff.
- Ability to delegate and supervise nursing staff. Effective communication (written, verbal and sign).
- Ability to participate in interdisciplinary team. Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
- Ability to work overtime due to staffing emergencies in a 24 hour 7 day per week psychiatric hospital which at times may mean working a 16-hour shift if and when necessary.
- Complete all annual competency training to include TOVA III with physical restraints
- Complete and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers with the American Heart Association
- Demonstrates knowledge of recovery/trauma informed care.
- Communicates with written, verbal, and electronic communications in a manner that is open, factual, respectful, clear, concise, as well as addressed to the appropriate parties with the intention of effectively building positive interactions with others.
- Demonstrates openness to feedback by listening, clarifying questions, and asking for suggestions.
- Utilizes and respects the chain of command.
