Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I (SSMI), the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) / Staff Services Analyst (SSA) independently performs complex technical analytical assignments within the scope of enforcement related complaints, citations and fines, and investigations of veterinarians, veterinarian technicians, veterinary premises (hospital facilities), and veterinary assistants.

Department Information
The Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) protects and serves California consumers while ensuring a competent and fair marketplace. DCA educates consumers and protects professionals from unfair competition by unlicensed practitioners.
DCA is a unique and dynamic department consisting of 36 different boards, bureaus, a commission, and a program that license and regulate more than 3.4 million licensees in more than 280 license types including certificates, registrations, and permits. The Veterinary Medical Board (VMB) is a dynamic, team-oriented office of approximately 36 employees and is responsible for regulating the practice of veterinary medicine in the State of California.
The Veterinary Medical (Board) is responsible for consumer protection through the regulation of the profession of veterinary medicine in the State of California. It is one of the boards under the umbrella of the California Department of Consumer Affairs. The mission of the Veterinary Medical Board (VMB) is to protect consumers and animals by regulating licensees, promoting professional standards, and diligent enforcement of the California Veterinary Medicine Practice Act.
The VMB has an opening for a full-time Staff Services Analyst position in its Enforcement section. The department will also consider filling the position with a Associate Governmental Program Analyst.
Special Requirements
- The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.
This position is subject to Title 16, section 3830 of the California Code of Regulations, the Department of Consumer Affairs’ Conflict of Interest Regulations. The incumbent is required to submit a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) within 30 days of assuming office, annually by April 1st, and within 30 days of leaving office.
