Department of Consumer and Business Services
(DCBS) is a progressive business regulatory state agency dedicated to the mission of protecting and serving Oregon's consumers and workers while supporting a positive business climate. The department administers state laws and rules governing workers' compensation, occupational safety and health, financial institutions, insurance companies and building codes. The department has consumer protection and education programs, offices, and ombuds to help consumers, injured workers, and businesses.
This part-time position is with the
Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Division
(Oregon OSHA). Oregon OSHA is responsible for assuring safe and healthful working conditions for Oregon workers through promulgation and enforcement of Occupational Safety and Health Regulations, and by providing education and consultation to employees and employers.
This part-time position is represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).

This part-time position is eligible for some
hybrid remote work
on a limited basis (about 4 hours per week) once the incumbent has gained the proficiency to perform work independently. However, regular scheduled office hours are also required during the trial service period and as requested.
Here’s what you will do:
As the Resource Center Coordinator, you will coordinate the functions of the Resource Center publication and film library with the needs of the section and public’s requests. Duties include:
- Monitoring, tracking, and responding to comments, questions, and lending requests from Resource Center video borrowers.
- Process and mail video shipments by pulling the correct video and following mailing protocol within a set time frame
- Fulfilling requests for publications
- Distributing materials such as brochures, codebooks, posters, and forms
- Assisting the public in completing Resource Center Borrower Agreements
- Answering telephones and routing calls to Technical staff as necessary
- Participating in outreach efforts reflecting Resource Center resources and other division/departmental resources, including composing letters, flyers, and other descriptive materials, writing articles for publication, staffing booth at trade shows, and/or public speaking
- Compiling statistics for a variety of reports; collating, preparing, and providing publication, and video library statistics required for quarterly and yearly federal monitoring purposes

Here’s what you need to qualify:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents
OR
- An associate degree in any field
OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience
Requested Skills:
- Good customer service skills
- Ability to be tactful and diplomatic in handling difficult personal contact and/or irate public
- Ability to assimilate knowledge of division policy and procedures
- Strong skills in organizing work efficiently and managing multiple tasks with interruptions
- Proficient using multiple computer programs to compare, analyze, and process information
