Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship
- Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration (male applicants born after December 31, 1959)
- One-year trial/probationary period may be required
- Suitability or fitness determination based on background investigation
- Tier 1, NACI Personnel Security Investigation
- Background investigation with periodic re-verification requirements due to interaction with children and youth under 18 years old
- Annual seasonal influenza vaccinations (signed statement or recognized exemption)
- Immunization screening (Hepatitis B immunization required for direct patient contact)
- Pre-placement medical examination
- Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to pre-employment drug screening and random testing
- State certification at grade level and national registry of emergency medical technicians or paramedics/EMTs certification within 12 months
- Certification in Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
Qualifications
- Specialized experience: treating routine medical emergencies under close supervision and performing maintenance and/or restocking of medical supplies
- Licensure/Certification: EMT certification from the State where the employing MTF is located (Kansas)
