Under the supervision of the Human Resources Director/Labor Relations Coordinator (HRD/LRC) this position performs high degrees of technical and analytical functions related to specialized work in the field of Human Resources and Labor Relations. This position collects, tabulates , analyzes, and applies the principles/techniques of the laws (government codes), rules, contracts, policies & procedures that govern employee labor relations and human resources. The position is responsible for assisting in the implementation and maintaining of the Labor Relations processes; research; initiates; and makes recommendations to the Labor Relations Coordinator regarding labor relations alternatives .


This position is not eligible for telework, this position is in person only.

Working Conditions

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must possess and maintain sufficient strength, agility, endurance, and sensory ability to perform the duties contained in the duty statement.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Ongoing interaction with personnel, management, and public of highly confidential/sensitive nature. Position requires prolonged sitting and extensive use of telephones , computers , and other office equipment. Core business days and hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM until 4:30 PM. This position must physically report to Porterville Developmental Center to conduct their duties. Regular telework is not available due to the nature of this position. Incumbent is expected to maintain a consistent work schedule as directed by the Labor Relations Coordinator.

Department Information

The California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is the agency through which the State of California provides services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities.

These disabilities include intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism and related conditions. Services are provided through state-operated developmental centers and community facilities, and contracts with 21 nonprofit regional centers. The regional centers serve as a local resource to help find and access the services and supports available to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
