As part of a Regional Center (RC) Liaison/Review Team, this position will provide analytical and data support for assigned RCs and vendored providers in the assigned RC area for staff monitoring RCs for contract, statutory and regulatory compliance. RCs are private, non-profit agencies that provide services in the community to individuals with developmental disabilities under the Lanterman Developmental Disabilities Services Act.

This position provides hybrid telework opportunities, with employees required to work in-person at least two days per week. Beginning July 1, 2025, all employees will be required to work in-person at least four days per week in alignment with Executive Order N-22-25.

Department Information

The California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is the agency through which the State of California provides services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities.

These disabilities include intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism and related conditions. Services are provided through state-operated developmental centers and community facilities, and contracts with 21 nonprofit regional centers. The regional centers serve as a local resource to help find and access the services and supports available to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

The DDS is located in a modern, sustainable and innovative office building at 1215 “O” Street, Sacramento, California. Some amenities of the building include:
  • First floor retail space (separate access from 12th Street)
  • Café with multiple vendors
  • Outdoor seating for meal breaks
  • Employee fitness center which includes a yoga studio, cardio equipment and weights
  • Plaza area with kitchenette on each floor
  • Lactation rooms

Special Requirements

The Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) must be typed in 12-point Arial font, single spaced, and be no more than two pages in length. Applicants who fail to answer the question below or submit an SOQ may not be considered.

1. Based on the duty statement please indicate how your education and experience qualifies you for the position.

2. Describe your experience developing ad hoc surveys and tools for collection and maintenance to assist in evaluating compliance with statutes, regulations, and contractual obligations.

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

Knowledge of: Principles, practices, and trends of public and business administration, management, and supportive staff services such as budgeting, data and management analysis. The Lanterman Developmental Disabilities Services Act, developmental disabilities, the RC service system, and processes and protocols in California state government.

Ability to: Reason logically and creatively and utilize a variety of analytical techniques to resolve complex RC and community service provider issues. Develop data reporting systems, analyze data and present ideas and information effectively both orally and in writing. Gain and maintain the confidence and cooperation of those contacted during the course of work. Develop and maintain cooperative and harmonious relationships with department and RC staff, the public and others; work with professional personnel in the field relating to coordinating and developing services for persons with developmental disabilities.
