What are the responsibilities and job description for the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SUPERVISOR II position at Department of Education?
Manages and/or coordinates administrative functions including maintaining necessary staff records, provides on-going performance monitoring and feedback, oversees time reporting, assists in the hiring process, and leads staff in planning the unit’s workload and schedules.
Acts as a mentor to staff in all phases of the IT system development lifecycle.
Provides planning, direction, and guidance to IT staff on IT projects.
Ensures that staff meets department development standards through technical and peer reviews.
Maintains effective client relations through meetings, memoranda, status reports, and presentations, as necessary.
Provides project management for multiple IT projects including: meeting with clients & client management, preparing project plans, preparing cost estimates, preparing and assigning project tasks, and monitoring projects to ensure they are on time, within cost, and meet the user’s needs.

Working Conditions
This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for a hybrid telework schedule for eligible applicants residing in California. A hybrid telework schedule includes working remotely and physically reporting to the office.
