What are the responsibilities and job description for the OFFICE TECHNICIAN (TYPING) position at Department of Financial Protection and Innovation?
Under the general supervision of the Escrow Licensing Special Administrator, the Office Technician (Typing) will function as the custodian of records for information obtained from DOJ and FBI based on livescan and fingerprint card processing and distributes all fingerprint clearances for various programs. The incumbent will follow the escrow program's policies and procedures reviewing employment application filings for completeness and process mailing of deficiency letters. The incumbent must have a working knowledge of the Financial Code as it pertains to these filings. Also, the incumbent will create receipt logs for payments relating to various escrow license and employment applications, investigation, and fingerprint card submissions. The incumbent will also assist with distribution and delivery of mail and provide telephone coverage.

Working Conditions
This position requires the incumbent to report to the designated office location based on business needs.
Los Angeles Location: The Los Angeles office is located in the heart of the downtown financial district within walking distance to restaurants, transit, multiple parking options.

FINGERPRINT
Title 11, section 703 (d) of the California Code of Regulations requires criminal record checks of all personnel who have access to Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI). Pursuant to this requirement, applicants for this position will be required to submit fingerprints to the Department of Justice and be cleared before hiring. In accordance to DFPI’s (CORI) procedures, clearance shall be maintained while employed in a CORI-designated position. Additionally, the position routinely works with sensitive and confidential issues and/or materials and is expected to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of documents and topics pertaining to individuals or to sensitive program matters at all times.
A valid Typing Certificate is required. The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications.
