Are you looking to be part of a dynamic team that protects the environment? The California Department of Fish and Wildlife's (CDFW) Business Management Branch (BMB) is seeking a motivated individual to work as an Business Service Assistant (Specialist) located in West Sacramento.
Under the close supervision of Staff Services Manager I, the incumbent will be responsible for operating a variety of machines including meter mailing machines and scales, letter inserters, folding machines, address printer, and paper cutter; collate and stuff envelopes, calibrate the machines for different types and sizes of material and perform maintenance/cleaning and minor repair on machines; monitoring of the Automated Licensing Database System (ALDS) and email inbox for order fulfillment and shipping; for the receipt, storage, inventory control, issuance and shipping of varied supplies; provide back-up courier service for pick-up and delivery of mail and parcels in the greater Sacramento area; provide back-up and supportive duties of incoming reproduction and mass mailout requests; amongst other duties outlined in the duty statement.

Working Conditions

This position is not eligible for Telework.

Desirable Qualifications

Position includes driving a state-owned vehicle. Possession of a valid class C driver’s license is required.
Knowledge of: Methods, practices, and equipment used in receiving, storing, and shipping material and supplies; methods of packing and unpacking material and supplies; common forms and documents used in receiving and shipping departments of a governmental or commercial organization; operation of forklift trucks and other types of materials handling equipment; methods of taking inventories and maintaining simple inventory records.
Ability to: Read and write English at a level required for successful job performance; make accurate computations relating to warehouse work; follow instructions.
Neatness and willingness to do heavy manual labor in either indoor or outdoor storage areas.
