We are seeking someone that enjoys hands on outdoor work to join our team as a Fish and Wildlfie Seasonal Aid. Gain experience with Land Management while improving California lands.This position works on the 19,000-acre San Jacinto Wildlife Area including the Davis Road and Potrero Canyon units, maintenance relating to the restoration, enhancement and improvement of wildlife habitat values and fisheries management on the San Jacinto Wildlife Area.

The Fish and Wildlife Seasonal Aid classification is a non-testing classification.

Working Conditions

Ability to work in extreme climates. Ability to hike up to 5 miles on uneven and steep terrain while carrying 20 – 40 lbs. of gear. Will perform manual labor. Must possess a California class C driver license, willing to work weekdays / nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical strength and agility; ability to lift 40 pounds; ability to swim 50 yards and stay afloat at least five (5) minutes.

Good driving record and education equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.

Special Personal Characteristics: Demonstrated knowledge of, interest in, and aptitude for fish and wildlife conservation and repair and maintenance work; willingness to live and work throughout the State; willingness to work unusual hours and on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays; willingness to perform varied manual tasks; willingness to work in adverse weather conditions; willingness to wear a prescribed uniform.Knowledge in the construction trade including the use of common tools and equipment.

Interpersonal Skills: Work independently and in a team setting.
