Anticipated Duration: April 1, 2025 – September 30, 2025
As a Fish and Wildlife Technician Entry (Screens Technician) at the John Day Screen Shop in John Day, Oregon, you will:
  • Assist with the welding, fabrication and installation of fish screen and passage components
  • Perform maintenance (fabrication, replacement and repair of screen and passage components)
  • Assist with the building of new or the reassembly of concrete forms
  • Operate and maintain shop equipment and a variety of power and hand tools
  • Assist with setting forms and installation of structural stee
  • Assist with crews in pouring and finishing concrete fish screen and passage structures
  • Assist with the removal of forms, backfill, by-pass pipe installation and site cleanup

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Minimum qualifications are not established for this classification (there are no minimum qualifications). Previous related experience is desirable.

  • Carpentry/woodworking knowledge/skills
  • Masonry/concrete pouring and form fabrication knowledge/skills
  • Welding/metal fabrication knowledge/skills
  • Experience with water systems and maintenance
  • Experience operating electronic or mechanical equipment
  • Building and equipment maintenance experience

  • The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect an additional 6.95%.
