Job Overview

The Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a highly skilled dental specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to make a real difference in the lives of our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive dental exams and diagnose oral health issues
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to address patient needs
  • Provide routine cleanings, fillings, and extractions as needed
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care

Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must have a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from a school accredited by the American Dental Association (ADA) or the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). Applicants must also possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in any state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

Additionally, applicants must have at least one year of experience performing professional dentistry work, equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Qualifying experience involves the evaluation, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases, injuries, and disorders of the oral cavity and maxillofacial area.

Some examples of dentistry experience may include:

  • Removal of decay
  • Filling cavities
  • Straightening, extracting, and repairing teeth
  • Treating gum diseases
  • Performing corrective surgery
  • Making measurements/models for dentures to replace missing teeth
  • Administering anesthetics
  • Writing prescriptions
