Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated dental professional to perform clinical dental work, including diagnoses and treatment of complex dental health problems.
The selected candidate will provide high-quality patient care, conduct oral and radiographic examinations, and develop effective treatment plans.
Responsibilities include providing restorative services, performing periodontal therapy, and administering anesthetics.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and maintain accurate medical records.
Education and licensure requirements include a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from a school approved by the American Dental Association (ADA) or the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
Applicants must also have passed the National Board Dental Examinations (NBDE) and hold a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry.
Additionally, the selected candidate will be required to obtain and maintain medical staff clinical privileges, including any licensure requirements.
Qualifications for this position include one or more full years of experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing professional dentistry work for GS-12 level and above assignments.
Some examples of dentistry experience may include removing decay, filling cavities, straightening, extracting, and repairing teeth, treating gum diseases, and performing corrective surgery.
The selected candidate will be expected to maintain accurate medical records, administer anesthetics, write prescriptions, and perform other requirements of the position.
GS-11 candidates who meet the basic requirements qualify for the GS-11 grade level, while GS-12 candidates must complete a 2-year residency program in dentistry, oral health, craniofacial sciences, or a related medical science, or equivalent experience.
