What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physician (Family Practice) position at Department Of Health And Human Services?
As a Physician, you will be responsible for prescribing and administering treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.
You will also order, perform, and interpret tests and analyze records, reports, and examination information to diagnose patients' condition.
Furthermore, you will collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical history, reports, or examination results, and monitor patients' conditions and progress and reevaluate treatments as necessary.
In addition, you will explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients, and advise patients and community members concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
Additionally, you will direct and coordinate activities of nurses, students, assistants, specialists, therapists, and other medical staff, and refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary.
Finally, you will coordinate work with nurses, social workers, rehabilitation therapists, pharmacists, psychologists, and other health care providers, and train residents, medical students, and other health care professionals.

Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; Association of American Medical Colleges; Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.

For all grade levels and positions, applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Subsequent to obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, a candidate must have had at least 1 year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting, i.e., a 1-year internship or the first year of a residency program in a hospital or an institution accredited for such training.
