What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Associate position at Department of Health?
Nature of Work
This position reports directly to the Human Resources Director and performs a range of human resources functions under limited supervision. Serving as the personnel administrator for multiple assigned offices within the bureau, the role is responsible for reviewing and entering personnel transactions, including:
- New hires, transfers, promotions, and reallocations
- Resignations, retirements, separations, and leave of absences
- Any other personnel actions affecting assigned offices
The position ensures personnel transactions comply with technical standards, established policies, and best practices. Additionally, this role:
- Plans and coordinates special projects for the HR Director, Commissioner, Deputy Commissioners, and other leadership as needed
- Assists the HR Director in resolving personnel-related issues by applying HR expertise and program knowledge
- Supports personnel services and expenditures, including generating and analyzing BI reports
- Manages job postings, leave information, and serves as a primary point of contact for bureau personnel activities
Minimum Qualifications
Training: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
Substitution: Candidates may substitute related experience in human resources, payroll, bookkeeping or accounting for the required education at the rate of one (1) year of experience for thirty (30) semester hours of education.
Note: A valid driver's license may be required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.79 - $27.10 per hour
