What are the responsibilities and job description for the Specimen Processing Assistant position at Department of Health?
Nature of Work
This is an entry-level position in the Laboratory Support Section. Duties include receiving and processing incoming specimens for laboratory testing, entering demographic and specimen data into the laboratory information management system (LIMS), performing data entry checks on data in the LIMS, preparing specimen collection kits and shipping kits to providers, maintaining collection kit stock supplies and logging used supplies into database, answering incoming phone calls and directing callers to the appropriate area/person, and delivering final reports back to submitting agencies. Duties are performed under close supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
Training: Graduation from a standard high school or the equivalent.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.78 - $21.51 per hour
