We are hiring a General Assistance Housing Support Specialist (Program Analyst 2) to join our Collaborative Disability Determination Unit (CDDU). In this position, you will identify statewide housing resources and assisting General Assistance (GA) consumers in making connections with local partners and resources, including local Community Action Agencies' case management staff. Summary of Duties
As a General Assistance Housing Support Specialist, you will:
- Act as a liaison between Collaborative Disability Determination Unit (CDDU), General Assistance (GA) Consumers, local Community Action Partnership (CAP) agencies, and Coordinated Care Organizations (CCO’s), making connections with local partners and resources, and helping consumers connect with CAP case management services and actively generating housing options for GA Consumers.
- Be a “change agent” internally and externally when circumstances warrant.
- Identify systemic barriers to obtaining housing and facilitate discussions amongst stakeholders to increase housing options for GA consumers.
- Identify opportunities for state and local collaboration and recommend system improvements.
- Provide regular written and oral information and reports to CDDU leadership.
- Use information gathered through collaboration with local agencies, analyze GA policy and practices to identify barriers and fill gaps in service delivery.
- Develop written proposals for possible innovations towards defined and specific outcomes.
- Stay current on state policy priorities that relate to housing.
- Identify opportunities for state and local collaboration and recommend system improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required for this position or you must have an appropriate form of transportation.
A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or a degree related to the agency program that demonstrates the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and two years experience coordinating or administering a program.
OR
Any combination of experience or education equivalent to five years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skill requirements listed for the classification.

- Experience with State and Federal housing programs.
- Experience working with people who have disabilities.
- Experience working with confidential and sensitive information.
- Experience interviewing people to obtain information for social service programs.

Working Conditions
- Hybrid work option. You will be required to work in the office two days a week and occasionally travel throughout the community to give presentations for business needs.
- This position requires occasional overnight travel on official State business.
- Special assignments and time sensitive projects may require working extended hours and occasional weekend work.
- This position is fast paced with a high volume of public contact. It requires detailed case record notation using computer technology, and analytical skills.
- You will interact with a wide range of people including some who have experienced trauma and may exhibit challenges in controlling their emotions.
