Summary of Duties
As an employee working within the
Child Welfare Program

As a Permanency Support, you will:
  • Offer administrative support to Permanency caseworkers and supervisors.
  • Answer calls, address inquiries, coordinate schedules, and guide individuals to services and resources.
  • Ensure legal compliance by managing discovery logs, documents, policies, forms, and letters.
  • Handle and enter administrative documents, including filing, closing cases, and managing records.
  • Maintain information related to legal entry and permanency placements.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents. Or
  • An associate degree in any field. Or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience demonstrating self-motivation and identifying and acting on opportunities independently.
  • Experience managing tasks, adapting to changes, and prioritizing to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Experience completing tasks that demand meticulous attention to detail.

Working Conditions
  • Work will be conducted in the office; this is not a remote position.
  • Occasional travel is required for meetings, trainings, and completing SPOTS purchases.
  • Employee’s work schedule will be Monday - Friday from 8 am - 5 pm PT.
  • Limited, compensated overtime may be required, including evening and weekend work.
  • Address sensitive issues related to trauma, abuse, substance use, and crises.
  • Engage with a diverse range of individuals, including those who have experienced trauma and may face challenges with emotional regulation.

  • The Oregon Department of Human Services does not offer visa sponsorship. Within three days of hire, you will be required to complete the US Department of Homeland Security’s I-9 form confirming authorization to work in the United States. ODHS will use E-Verify to confirm that you are authorized to work in the United States.
  • Finalists must be cleared by the FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) through a fingerprint-based criminal records check.
  • A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.
