Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I), the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) will be responsible for a variety of complex analytical and program support functions related to the delivery and administration of the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) Labor Commissioner’s Office (LCO) case management software, associated training activities, and utilization of technological improvements to enhance the administration of business processes. The AGPA works closely with program leaders for the timely implementation of projects to improve the overall functionality of data management systems used by the LCO and is responsible for developing and generating reports, tracking compliance and operational efficiencies, and for developing, facilitating, and delivering training. The AGPA will be involved in program evaluation, planning, analysis, troubleshooting, and will provide consultative services to management.

High-volume, fast-paced office that handles wage claims and relies on computer systems to do so. May travel to assist other offices with support or training. The incumbent typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office. Incumbent may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday.

The Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) was established in 1927. DIR administers and enforces laws governing wages, workplace safety and health, apprenticeship training programs, and medical care and other benefits for injured workers.

Special Requirements

A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required. As part of the required application packet, interested applicants must submit an SOQ with their application. The SOQ serves as documentation of each candidate’s ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing.
