Under the supervision of the Staff Services Manager I, Resource Services Unit, the Staff Services Analyst (SSA) performs analytical evidence collection, handling, and disposition, as well as evidence room maintenance for the Regional Offices. The SSA is responsible for ensuring strict compliance with evidence chain of custody procedures to ensure legal requirements are met, eliminating evidence mishandling and potential jeopardy to criminal prosecution. This position reviews and analyzes basic to semi-complex information, subpoenas, court orders and other legal documents, and regulations for lawful handling of evidence. Routine travel of more than 50 miles and up to 25% is required within the State of California via private or public transportation (i.e., automobile, airplane, etc.). Travel may include overnight stay.

Desirable Qualifications
- Knowledge of methods and practices in recording, inspecting, maintaining, receiving, issuing and recording inventory; accounting for and disposing of property and state records in accordance with applicable Government Code(s), the State Administrative Manual (SAM), and departmental policies and procedures.
