The Oregon Department of Justice’s
Division of Child Support
(DCS) is seeking to hire a Child Support Case Manager (Entry) for our Case Intake Team located in Salem. Primary Duties (in part)
In this role as a Child Support Case Manager, you will work as a specialist in the Business Services, Case Intake team and perform essential work supporting the entire program. This position is responsible for adhering to federal and state timeframes and processing incoming applications for services, public assistance referrals, and requests from other jurisdictions for child support services. This diverse work includes interpreting legal support orders, reviewing requests for services, and assessing a family’s safety status to determine the appropriate actions for creating and opening child support cases. Analysis includes reviewing participant and case information to clarify and verify both missing and existing information to ensure data integrity. This position is responsible for written and verbal contact with internal and external participants and stakeholders to explain processes and address missing information for specific actions. This position maintains awareness of downstream processes to ensure each family’s child support case is initiated appropriately.
Required Experience

  • Three (3) years of experience working with the public in person or by phone giving information about services and programs and solving customer problems/complaints. Experience must include the use of personal computers, web-based applications, and typical software such as Microsoft Office.
OR
  • A Bachelor's Degree.
Work experience is based on a 40-hour work week. (Example: 20 hours a week for one year would equal six-months of work experience.)
AND
  • Finalists must pass a comprehensive employment reference check and fingerprint-based criminal background check. A driver history check will be included for positions requiring state vehicle driving privileges. Adverse findings will be evaluated to determine eligibility for the position.

After one year and upon a successful completion of trial service as a Child Support Case Manager-Entry, employees will meet the minimum qualifications of Child Support Case Manager and be placed in the Child Support Case Manager classification (Salary Range (21) - $4,715- $6,549 monthly. 6% of which is the Public Employees Retirement System contribution).
Current Division of Child Support case managers who are successful finalists will be processed as lateral transfers.
