Job Summary:

The Department of Justice is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as a Supervisory Public Affairs Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of comprehensive public outreach, educational, and media affairs programs. You will also manage a team of public affairs specialists, providing guidance and support to enhance their performance and productivity.



• Supervise a team of public affairs specialists, providing mentorship and evaluation to ensure they meet job requirements.
    • Develop and implement comprehensive public outreach, educational, and media affairs programs.
    • Collaborate with senior officials to develop and execute strategic communications plans that address complex public affairs issues.
    • Oversee responses to national and local media inquiries, ensuring timely handling and accuracy of information.
    • Plan and oversee all phases of OJP publication production, including editing and rewriting material before publication.
    • Ensure the Media Affairs team prioritizes building strong relationships with reporters and delivering a positive experience by providing timely and accurate information.

Requirements:

• U.S. Citizenship required.
    • Subject to background/suitability investigation/determination.
    • Requires registration for the Selective Service. Visit www.sss.gov.
    • Pre-employment drug testing required.
    • 1-year probationary period may be required.
    • Security Requirements: Non-Sensitive/Moderate Risk.
