The Crime Analyst Supervisor (CAS) is responsible for the supervision and administration of the Firearm Reporting (FR) Team and the Serial Number Team. The CAS is responsible for ensuring that the operations involving the eligibility process of a person to own or possess a firearm and/or ammunition is completed accurately and in the mandated time frame; closely monitors the workload, estimates, and makes recommendations to management regarding the resources needed to adequately address the constant flow of work; and assists staff in interpreting and administering the myriad of complex state and federal laws that govern an individual’s eligibility to own/possess firearms and or ammunition.

Working Conditions

DOJ has adopted telework for employees who can effectively perform their essential work functions remotely. After an initial training period, this position may allow for some telework opportunities. All telework schedules are based on current conditions and may be re-evaluated as conditions change.

Department Information

  • This position is located in the Division of Law Enforcement, Bureau of Firearms, Firearm Applicant and Release Unit 2.

  • Please note that all new to state employees will be given the minimum salary of the classification. For current state employees and/or those with reinstatement rights, your salary will be determined in accordance with the applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
