What are the responsibilities and job description for the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATE position at Department of Justice?
Under the general supervision of the Information Technology Supervisor I, the Information Technology Associate (ITA) will work as a technical lead within the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Implementation and Production Services Section in support of the organization’s complex multi-system environments located at the Hawkins Data Center. The ITA will work closely with customers as well as other DOJ service areas in support of the more responsible, varied, and difficult implementation, maintenance, and operations of the organization’s statewide Information Technology systems. This will include the implementations, configurations, tuning, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for the complex California Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (CLETS). The incumbent will also be responsible for resetting client passwords for access, providing subject matter expertise to the business units, and assisting Law Enforcement Agency Web and CLETS users. The ITA will partner with other personnel in solving network problems and communicate/document effective resolutions to the appropriate staff and management. The incumbent contributes toward the growth of the Technology Support Bureau into a customer-focused service organization. Additionally, they will continuously improve communications and relationships with subordinates, peers, management, customers, and vendors.

Working Conditions
This position is eligible for telework one day every two weeks, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. A teleworker is considered Remote-centered if they work fifty percent or more of their time from an alternate work location. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Additional Salary Information
Please note that this classification contains multiple salary ranges. New-to-State employees will be given the minimum salary of Range A, unless you meet Alternate Range Criteria 483. For current state employees and/or those with reinstatement rights, your salary will be determined in accordance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
ALTERNATE RANGE CRITERIA 483
Established 1/31/18, Pay Letters 18-04 and 18-05
When using education to meet the Alternate Range Criteria, education must include at least 15 semester units (or 22.5 quarter units) of information technology or closely related course work. Closely related coursework refers to a course of study involving the study of computing, such as software engineering, computer engineering, Management Information Systems, Geographic Information System, and computing technology.
Range A. This range shall apply to persons who do not meet the criteria for Range B, Range C, or Range D.
Range B. This range shall apply to persons who meet the Minimum Qualifications for the classification and who have:
1. Completed one year of satisfactory additional experience performing duties equivalent to or higher than an Information Technology Associate, or
2. Completed an additional 30 semester or 45 quarter units from an accredited college or university.
Range C. This range shall apply to persons who meet the Minimum Qualifications for the classification and who have:
1. Completed three years of satisfactory additional experience performing duties equivalent to or higher than an Information Technology Associate, or
2. Received a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Range D. This range shall apply to persons who meet the Minimum Qualifications for the classification and who have completed five years of satisfactory additional experience performing duties equivalent to or higher than an Information Technology Associate.
When the requirements for the criteria are met and upon recommendation of the appointing power, the employee shall receive a rate under the provisions of California Code of Regulations, title 2, section 599.674 upon movement to Range B or Range C and a rate under the provisions of California Code of Regulations, title 2, section 599.676 upon movement to Range D.
This position is eligible for Night Shift Pay Differential 85.
