Under the direction of the Special Agent Supervisor, the Staff Services Analyst (SSA) provides analytical support for the Firearms Investigations and Dangerous Weapons Enforcement. The SSA is responsible for the procurement of equipment, goods, services, and obtains competitive bids and is the liaison between Division of Operations units and control agencies. The SSA is expected to understand current state laws, regulations, and penal codes pertaining to the Bureau. The SSA gathers, tabulates, and analyzes data; prepares reports and makes recommendations on procedures. The SSA may on occasion be required to work mandatory overtime.

Working Conditions

DOJ has adopted telework for employees who can effectively perform their essential work functions remotely. After an initial training period, this position may allow for some telework opportunities. All telework schedules are based on current conditions and may be re-evaluated as conditions change.

  • This position is located in the Division of Law Enforcement, Bureau of Firearms, Firearms Investigations and Dangerous Weapons Enforcement.

  • Please note that this classification contains multiple salary ranges. New-to-State employees will be given the minimum salary of Range A, unless you meet Alternate Range Criteria 69.
