Job Duties
Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles is seeking Programmers for two positions with its IT Services Division in Richmond, Virginia.
This professional programmer position is responsible for development, and maintenance services while supporting the Vehicle Systems computer applications.
Assists project lead on larger projects and for smaller projects leads, develop, test and manages with responsibility for technical and functional development from the definition through the conceptual model, detailed design, testing and implementation stages. Projects are typically mission and/or time critical, large and/or complex due to technology and/or user and system interfaces. Position is responsible for knowing the requirements to fulfill ISO and Audit compliance requirements as well as other project/system documentation and works to create and keep these up-to-date and accurate.

Minimum Qualifications
- Mainframe experience and background; programming languages and databases.
- Solid experience in Software AG product set (ADABAS, NATURAL etc.).
- Solid background and experience developing in IBM MF environment using COMPLETE, ISPF, TSO, TN3270 etc.
- Good understanding of batch processing and IBM JCL.
- DMV IT Systems experience.
- Analyze, identify and correct errors in computer programs and fix computer system production problems.
- Experience in testing methods and test data.
Additional Considerations
- Formal IT training or qualification
- Experience in the use of various PC software packages is required (preferably with the MS Office suite of tools).
