“Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKs program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKs recipient in the comments area on the application. Applicants must submit a verification of their CalWORKs eligibility status, which may include the most recent Notice of Action showing TANF eligibility or a copy of your last aid check stub. If verification is not submitted with the application, the application will not be processed. (Applicants may obtain verification from the CalWORKs program).”
The reporting location for this position is the Visitor Center at Calaveras Big Trees SP located in Arnold, CA. This position will work under the supervision of the State Park Interpreter III.
The Visitor Center Park Aide is an entry level position that performs front line park operation work at Calaveras Big Trees State Park. Duties include answering questions and providing information to the public, assisting interpretive staff with educational and interpretive programs, working in the visitor center, helping keep interpretive facilities clean and organized, and completing assigned projects.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

Desirable Qualifications
Be available to work weekends and holidays.
Be comfortable with public speaking including working with kids.
Ability to stand for long periods (up to four hours)
Ability to perform light manual labor (e.g. able to shovel snow, loading up to 20 pounds, etc.)
May require repetitive movement, walking, standing, twisting, answering phones, typing or lifting objects
Ability to walk across uneven terrain in both uphill and downhill conditions to perform the duties associated with the job
Proficient in basic computer skills including email, spreadsheets, and online software.
Perform basic mathematical computations associated with assigned duties
Make sound decisions given available information and situational parameters
Provide a valid drivers license.
