Post & Bid: This classification is subject to the Post and Bid process. Applications from a certification list, transfer change in class, reinstatement, re-employment, and training and development assignment candidates will be accepted for this position but consistent with the MOU/Bargaining Agreement BU12/13 contract cannot be acted upon unless the Post & Bid process does not result in a hire.
The Park Maintenance Worker I is an integral part of the maintenance operation at this one-of-a-kind State Natural Reserve. This position will work throughout the Reserve and State Beach to ensure that the facilities are in good repair and safe for the millions of visitors that come to the park each year. This position may work as a lead over seasonal employees and assist with various volunteer groups. This challenging position will allow the incumbent the opportunity to further develop skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, purchasing, overseeing contract operators and the Department Online programs.
This position is designated as not telework eligible.
Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

Working Conditions
Typical work activities involve frequent periods of bending, stooping, and lifting. Perform indoor and outdoor work often in inclement weather. May have extensive exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises. May work in remote locations. May require heavy physical work including lifting, pushing, or pulling. Read, write, and understand English.
