Job Description
Our Agency is looking to hire a skilled computer technician to handle regular computer maintenance and repair on our computer system. Our technicians are responsible for monitoring, diagnostics, and ensuring that all our office systems are properly configured for maximum efficiency and up time.
Your duties will include installing software patches, diagnosing and repairing common computer problems, monitoring internal networks, and repairing server errors. You will also be responsible for resolving hard disk failures, configuring software and drivers, and performing regular system upgrades and backups. We are also looking for a candidate that can implement and improve current data security systems, as well as manage workstations and write memos when needed for computer maintenance and system updates.
We are looking for someone with great problem-solving skills, excellent troubleshooting skills, extensive technical knowledge, and strong communication skills. You should also have good task management and be able to prioritize different concerns throughout the workday. Critical thinking skills are a must.
Computer Technician Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve problems with hardware and software
- Installation: Set up hardware and install software applications
- Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance and upgrades to systems
- Repair: Repair hardware such as motherboards
- Networking: Install and maintain networks, including LANs and WANs
- Security: Manage security options and software to protect against attacks
- Technical support: Provide support to users, including coaching them through common problems
- Documentation: Create and maintain records of repairs and maintenance

Minimum Qualifications
1. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a state’s Department of Education or recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory, full-time experience in computer maintenance and repair; or
2. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a state’s Department of Education or recognized accrediting organization and graduation from a certified technical training program in computer maintenance and repair; or
3. A satisfactory combination of education, training and/or experience equivalent to “1” or “2” above. Experience of the type described in “1” above may be substituted for high school on the basis of one year of experience for each year of high school. However, all candidates must have either one year of the type of experience described in “1” above, or graduation from a certified technical training program as described in “2” above.
Driver License Requirement: By the time you are appointed to this position, you must have a motor vehicle driver license valid in the State of New York. If you have moving violations, license suspensions or an accident record, you may be disqualified. This license must be maintained for the duration of your employment.
