What are the responsibilities and job description for the Management Analyst position at Department of Public Works?
This position is located in the Human Capital Administration, Office of the Director. The Human Capital Administration is responsible for providing a variety of services to the Department. The incumbent works with a high degree of independence under the general direction of the Human Capital Administrator. The incumbent is expected to exercise a high degree of responsibility in carrying out important personnel issues, policies, and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
Works closely with management and project teams to carry out highly complex management studies dealing with work measurement, methods, and procedures, time standards, and/or benchmarking to identify root or systemic causes and problems, and propose solutions to improve efficiencies. Analyzes and review documentation procedures and controls. Conducts analysis of the most complex business problems. Works with management to apply findings and recommendations to develop agency strategies and corresponding business objectives. Collects and analyzes data, evaluates the likelihood and consequences of noncompliance, and develops recommendations for the management and tracking of identified problems. Reports the finding and propose actions plans to address findings.
Manages, organizes, coordinates, and monitors activities and functions of development projects in cooperation with other departments and other government agencies. Coordinates corrective action with the appropriate Official or office when errors are identified. Serves as liaison between the supervisor and departmental employees. Prepares written reports summarizing data findings, recommendations, project management, and others as defined.
Qualifications and Education
Applicants must possess one (1) year of specialized experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA’s) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be credible, Specialized Experience must be equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.

Position Designation: This position has been designated as security sensitive therefore the incumbent of this position will be subject to enhanced suitability screening pursuant to Chapter 4 of DC Personnel Regulations, Suitability and as such, incumbents of this position shall be subject to criminal background checks, and background investigations, as applicable.
If the position you are applying for is in the Career, Management Supervisory, or Educational Service at an annual salary of one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) or more, you must establish residency in the District of Columbia within one hundred eighty (180) days of the effective date of the appointment and continue to maintain residency within the District of Columbia throughout the duration of the appointment.
