Preferred Skills
- Excellent writing and general communication skills, including experience presenting to large groups. - Excellent PC-based skills: Microsoft Office and similar programs, major internet search engine and database aptitude to learn new computer skills, systems, and technology. - Experience in writing letters/e-mail messages, reports, researching information and related forms of communication. - Must have a high level of reading comprehension/understanding of written sequences and paragraphs in work-related documents. - Able to present confidently to large groups/public. - Strong administrative, organizational, project management, correspondence, and communication skills. - Interest in field work and ability to be flexible with work schedule - including working nights and/or weekends in all five boroughs to accommodate needs of the Bureau. - Prior experience with community engagement, outreach and/or community service, handling Agency/organization correspondence. - Valid NYS Driver’s license with good driving record and ability to successfully traverse the City. - Prior experience with community engagement, outreach and/or community service, handling Agency/organization correspondence. - Knowledge of field operations, NYC policy and procedures, able to communicate with other NYC agencies. - Fluency in a second language such as: Spanish, Chinese, Russian, French-Creole, Bengali and/or Korean helpful.

Residency Requirement
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
