Solution Architect is responsible for advisory and implementation of solution architecture that extracts and maximizes business value from IT Investments.
Solution Architect will provide direct support to:
- IT architecture, governance, engineering, security and operations services for the Technology Services Division, Department of Social Services.
- Provide innovative approaches required to deliver efficient and effective application frameworks that are fundamental to business success, technical and engineering best practices.
- Additionally, recommends application workflows and streamlining application presentations layers into dynamic and active application solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
KSA’s and/or Competencies required to successfully perform the work:
- Technical and Functional Expertise: Experience in developing architectures and designing large scale enterprise-wide applications. Experience in enabling and modernizing information technology for future business transformation and process improvements. Broad architectural exposure across OS (Windows, UNIX), Database (Oracle, DB2, SQL Server), Master Data Management, Data Warehousing, ETL, Application server (J2EE, .NET), Infrastructure as a Service and Low Code No Code technologies.
- Interpersonal Communication: Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to managers, end users, developers, and technical staff.
- Leadership: Lead technology projects from initiation to closure with support from senior managers. Capable of supporting applications and systems while leading or mentoring developers and analysts. Apply project management fundamentals to structure projects for success by managing scope, quality, risks, issues, vendors, teams, and stakeholder relationships.
- Personal Effectiveness: Skilled in leading work efforts, assigning tasks and balancing priorities of assigned workloads. Focus on structuring, managing, and implementing complex technical solutions requiring deep business expertise, process optimization, and business operations knowledge to achieve significant and measurable business value. Contribute to the growth of the architecture practice by implementing standards, best practices and bringing in new tools and innovative approaches.
Additional Considerations
- Experience as an architect with computer, storage and networking platforms in cloud or data center.
- Experience working with diverse, cross-functional teams composed of both technical and non-technical members.
- Experience providing technical direction for design, development and validation for cloud platforms (e.g. Salesforce, Azure, AWS).
- Experience identifying design and architectural discrepancies and deficiencies and proposing mitigations.
- Strong understanding and exposure of NIST 800-53 Controls and relationship with SEC530 controls.
- Strong understanding and exposure of FEA, MITA architectures.
