Job Duties
The Virginia Department of Taxation is seeking an administrative assistant to support the General Services section and the agency’s Westmoreland location. This individual will perform a variety of administrative activities in support of several agency-wide programs, projects, and initiatives.
What you can expect as an Administrative Assistant:
Various forms or written and verbal communication such as answering telephone calls, route incoming calls, producing and proofreading memoranda, letters and other documentation with the use of Microsoft Office products. Other aspects of the role involve records management, making travel arrangements, and assisting with new employee orientation.

Utilize and monitor the Agency’s Pro-Watch Security System an administer the issuance of access and ID cards while also maintaining an appropriate inventory of security system supplies.
Administer the agencies parking program to include tracking, logging and issuance of parking passes.
Liaison between TAX and DGS relating to Westmoreland Building parking.
Perform administrative duties and assists Mail Services in the receiving and scanning of Express Mail.
Perform the Agency Transportation Officer duties.
This position will be required to report to the Richmond, VA
Anticipated salary is commensurate with experience up to $50,000

Minimum Qualifications
Administrative experience with office practices and procedures as well as proficiency in the operation of various office equipment, including MS Office Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Strong organizational and communications skills and ability to compile, organize, prepare and maintain an assortment of records and reports
Ability to support and manage multiple tasks, projects and deadlines simultaneously
Ability and/or working experience with access and ID badging and utilizing security software to issue ID access badges and photo IDs
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Additional Considerations
Experience with managing parking access
Experience with fleet management
