What are the responsibilities and job description for the AIRCRAFT FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR position at Department of the Army?
Job Summary:
This position is for a Flight Instructor who will plan and implement flight training and instruction for rated pilots and instructor pilots in accordance with individual needs. The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a rated pilot, possess at least one year of on-the-job experience, and be qualified to operate main-frame military aircraft.
The successful candidate will instruct pilots in operating advanced instruments, flight techniques, and emergency procedures such as loss of propulsion, directional control, or related systems. They will also conduct training flights involving operating an aircraft through reference to instruments and use of automatic direction finding equipment.
Additional responsibilities include preparing and presenting related classroom instruction, recommending whether pilots remain in flight status, and conducting refresher, mission, and continuation training in various types of aircraft.
The Flight Instructor will work closely with the Commander to develop, maintain, and rehearse accident and pre-accident prevention plans for the aviation facility.
The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled and experienced pilot with strong instructional skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Please note that this is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Missouri National Guard prior to the effective date of placement.
