What are the responsibilities and job description for the SRS (Energetics Characterization and Qualification (EC&Q)), DEVCOM position at Department of the Army?
This is an interdisciplinary job requiring substantial experience and significant scientific contributions. The incumbent will work at the DEVCOM Armaments Center, leading improvements to the Army's energetics characterization and qualification efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Army's Strategic Planning to provide necessary capabilities to Combatant Commanders in support of National security and defense strategies
- Deliver lethal firepower with minimum collateral effects, while increasing survivability of the soldier
- Interface extensively with Department of Energy, Joint Services, HQDA, JML LCMC, OSD, NATO and Industry
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required
- Ability to submit and pass designated and/or Random Drug Testing as required
- Ability to obtain/maintain the appropriate clearance level and access for this position
Education
A minimum of a Graduate Degree (preferably Ph.D.) in one of the following disciplines is required: 0801, 0830, 0855, and 0893
Qualifications
- Specialized experience in Energetics Characterization and Qualification (EC&Q) technology experiments, chemistry, material interactions, and subsequent relationship and application to munition systems design and performance is required
- Technical qualifications demonstrated through leadership and management are mandatory

- Senior Professional Qualification #1 (SPQ1): Ability to establish and maintain impactful working relationships with key management, professional and scientific personnel
- Senior Professional Qualification #2 (SPQ2): Stature in the profession as indicated by memberships, activity, and tangible contributions in professional and scientific societies or equivalent organizations
