DUTIES

  • You will distribute and control electrical energy through a primary electrical distribution system.
  • You will operate alternating current and direct current switchboards to control and distribute electrical power through the primary distribution system
  • You will connect, disconnect, parallel, or substitute electrical units or conductors by remote control from the control switchboard.
  • You will monitor load indicator gauges to detect large changes in load
  • You will operate high voltage switches and circuit breakers to transfer loads and restore power
  • You will troubleshoot issues with generators, generator auxiliaries, power distribution equipment, communications equipment, and emissions control equipment.
  • You will assist boiler plant operators in the operation of Heat Recover Steam Generators (HRSGs) and other plant boilers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Operating and maintaining high voltage electric utility systems and emergency and standby generators; 2) Using test equipment and tools, such as ammeters, voltmeters, meggers, graphic recorders, and dressing tools; and 3) Reading multiphase electronic and electrical circuit schematic drawings and diagrams.

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Pay: $25.23 - $31.39 per hour
