DutiesYou will be responsible for all matters pertaining to the contract through the life of the contract.You will have the ability to act as both a contract expert and a business advisor in developing business and contracting strategies in the Defense Acquisition environment.You will serve as a technical authority for field visits and reviews, and serves as a member of task force.You will make contractual decisions and procurement policies / procedures and recommendations.Requirements Conditions of EmploymentMust be a US Citizen.Must be determined suitable for federal employment.Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the excepted service which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and / or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing. Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as the following;1. Planning, directing, coordinating, and executing contractual and procurement policy actions involved in supporting sophisticated and technologically advanced systems.2. Monitoring development and acquisition activities to promote and maintain maximum coordination and integration.3. Developing and presenting convincing oral / written presentations to all levels of government and industry.4. Education Applicants must meet the following Basic Education Requirements of the Department of Defense Qualification Standard for Contracting Positions : A. A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degreesB. I am a current career or career-conditional employee of the Department of Defense who occupied an 1102 or contracting position with authority to award or administer contracts in excess of the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT) in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000.C.I am a current active duty military member of the armed forces (other than Coast Guard) who occupied a contracting position or similar occupational specialty to the GS (or equivalent) 1102 on or before September 30, 2000.D.I am in the Contingency Contracting Force.
